Qualities
Why do we need them?
Qualities provide a sense of inner alignment — the feeling that “I am as I should be. Life isn’t passing me by. I am okay.”
When we experience an unexplainable inner irritation or a sense that something is wrong, this is simply an indicator that our qualities are out of balance — nothing more.
First, we encounter internal tension. “Conflict” may be too strong a word; it’s more accurate to say that something is out of order. And this state appears in two main forms.
The first occurs when we try to get rid of certain traits — laziness, disorganization, irritability. In other words, when we attempt to stop being who we are.
The second occurs when a quality exists within us but remains unexpressed. For example, a woman may have artistic ability, but it is not manifested in her life. This unused potential — this failure to live out what we carry inside — creates a persistent sense of misalignment, as if we are falling behind our own life.
