Principles

Our principles are always expressed through someone — more precisely, through one of our internal roles. Each principle is protected or represented by a role if you’re more extroverted, or by a sub-personality if you're more introverted.

There are a total of sixteen roles (or behavioral patterns) responsible for our internal balance. Many people feel a lack of inner harmony or personal power because some of their principles are not being expressed or fulfilled.

Try writing down all the roles you recognize in yourself. This can be incredibly helpful, because roles and sub-personalities serve our core life principles, and those principles protect our values.

For example: you may have a principle of order and organization. Within you, there may be a “business-like” or strategically minded role that embodies this principle. But simply listing the role may not be enough — the corresponding principle may still be neglected. Once you connect roles to their principles, you’ll clearly see what needs attention, strengthening, or change in your life.

This step is essential for building inner alignment.
